Procedures for direct participation in SPI and Opening of PI Account

The Central Bank released today, 24.11.20, the procedures for direct participation in the SPI and opening of PI Account by institutions authorized to operate by the Central Bank.

The request for direct participation in the SPI must observe, in addition to the procedures described in the process of adhesion to the Pix arrangement, the instructions contained in the Roadmap available on the Central Bank website.

After requesting participation and connection to the RSFN, the applicant must perform the tests to prove operational and technological capacity, described in the Roadmap.

The applicant shall complete the substantiation tests within five (5) months, which may be extended once for two (2) months at the applicant's request.

The successful completion of the proof tests and the approval of the applicant's membership in the Pix arrangement are necessary conditions for the inclusion of the applicant in the SPI Production environment.

From the communication of approval in the proof tests, the applicant shall have a period of three (3) months to start operations, it being certain that failure to comply with the deadline referred to in the caput implies loss of validity of the request and termination of the process.

The applicant shall provide the registration of the director or occupant of an administrative position responsible for matters related to the SPI in Unicad, in compliance with the regulations in force.

The applicant must also inform, at least 3 (three) business days in advance, the date scheduled for the start of operations in the IPS production environment.

When the PI Account is opened, the other participants will be advised of the applicant's registration in the SPI production environment by means of a message contained in the SFN Service Catalog.

The updated list of all SPI participants and their participation status can be consulted on the Central Bank's website.

The tests performed under previous homologation processes shall not be considered for purposes of proving the operational and technological capacity in the processes initiated under this Normative Instruction.
