CMN relaxes rules for financial institutions to serve a greater number of small entrepreneurs

The CMN has just relaxed the rules so that financial institutions can serve the largest number of small entrepreneurs and without the need for the first contact to be made in person, as was required.

Resolution nº 4,854/2020, among other changes, authorized that both the business planning and the operation monitoring be performed remotely; and also increased the income range of potentially contemplated microentrepreneurs. The annual gross income limit to be accepted in the microcredit program increased from R$ 200,000.00 (two hundred thousand reais) to R$ 360,000.00 (three hundred and sixty thousand reais).

The Resolution shall enter into force on November 3, 2020 and repeals Articles 1 to 7 of Resolution No. 4,713 dated March 28, 2019.
