Barcellos Tucunduva Advogados inaugurates Health Law area

Vera Lucia Angrisani, a retired judge, arrives to structure the Health area at the bank

Barcellos Tucunduva Advogados (BTLAW), voted one of the Most Admired Law Firms by the ANÁLISE ADVOCACIA 2022 yearbook and the ANÁLISE ADVOCACIA REGIONAL 2023 ranking, is about to turn 70 and has announced the opening of its Health Law department. Retired judge Vera Lucia Angrisani, a new partner, will be responsible for structuring the new Health Law area.

Vera Lucia worked at the São Paulo State Court of Justice for almost two decades and coordinated the São Paulo State Health Committee for the last four years. During this time, she developed projects aimed at de-judicializing health and promoting speedy proceedings, both in the public and private spheres.

"I think the big challenge is to be able to reconcile the work you do helping all health operators and interfacing with the government, the secretariats, the agencies. In fact, because the law doesn't move at the same speed as development and new developments in society. So this interconnection needs to be done by a professional," said Vera Lucia.
The judge says she is happy to be able to share the experience she gained in her public career, now with her strengths redirected to private practice. She is very enthusiastic and recognizes the magnitude of the challenge.

"It's a great honor to join Barcellos Tucunduva Advogados, it's a traditional firm with a lot of competence and it gives me peace of mind to be able to work interactively. It's a great thrill and a great honor to be able to join them," said the new partner.
The lawyer is a graduate of the University of São Paulo (USP), a lecturer on postgraduate courses in Public Law, Urban Planning and Applied Constitutional Law at the Escola Paulista da Magistratura and coordinator of the Health area at the same institution.

Her educational contribution extends to being a lecturer at COGEAE - Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo, and as a tutor in the distance learning course on Administrative Improbity at the National School for the Training and Improvement of Magistrates (ENFAM).
