Justice Day: Interview with Marcio Bonilha Filho

Today (08/12) is celebrated the Day of Justice, we interviewed our partner Marcio Bonilha Filho about the importance of this date:

1.What is the role of the day of justice?

Justice is the power to enforce the right of someone or each one. Something essentially abstract, whose balanced application, hence the symbol of the scales, results in social pacification and promotes fair social development.

2.Seventy years after the institution of Justice Day, is there anything to celebrate?

The evolution that has taken place in the judicial area, in this particular case, despite the setbacks suffered, justifies the commemoration of the date, which has the power to provoke reflections in the judicial area, in the Judiciary, in the field of the Legal Profession and of the Public Prosecution Service, in the judicial agents, and in the auxiliary organs of Justice, all of which are indispensable to the rendering of the sublime task of giving each one what is his or hers.

Why invest in more transparent justice?

The ideal of transparent, speedy, equitable and fair Justice is proper of the State of Law, and corresponds to the requirements of the democratic regime, in the contemporary civilization. To insist in the transparent Justice is to assure the certainty of the distribution of the right, fair and efficient jurisdictional rendering, in the solution of the conflicts in the legal sphere.

4.What debates can the day of justice bring to the society?

The topicality of the debates constitutes the formula for reviving this yearning of humanity, in the search for the realisation of Justice, which, as the French writer Anatole France said, "is the sanction of established injustices", knowing that "the laws emanating from Justice are the soul of a people".
