The Annual Census of Foreign Capital in Brazil (“2020 Census”), referring to December 31st, 2019, must be submitted to the Central Bank of Brazil by August 17th, 2020, 6PM.
The statement comprises information regarding the corporate structure, economic and accounting information, and liabilities with non-resident creditors.
The entities obliged to 2020 Census are:
I – legal entities with headquarters in Brazil, with non-residents’ equity interest in their capital, in any amount, and with net equity of US$ 100 million or more;
II – investment funds with non-resident shareholders and net equity of US$ 100 million or more; and
III – legal entities with headquarters in Brazil, with a total outstanding balance of short-term commercial credits (payable within 360 days) granted by non-residents of US$ 10 million or more.
The lack of submission of the required information, incomplete, incorrect and false information or late submission may result in the application of fine.
